Announce and flounce
Ah Hayley I love you...
Pop your dummy back in and stick around Brian
It won't be the first or last time people disagree with you
That's life on the boards

McB

I too am sorry you feel the need to leave, but if you read Mildred's posting of today on your reported thread, she puts an excellent summary of the why's and wherefore's as to why this difference of opinion has arisen - suggest you read it and then reconsider, and if the post is reinstated, then delete it toute suite and all will be forgotten :-)

Lynch mob!!! PMSL so 4 or more people that hold the same opinion and voice it ( remember this freedom of speech stuff works both ways) its a lynch mob :-D :-D :-D

I have read the thread and I see no lynch mob at all. No one has been rude to Brian, there is certainly no bullying ( before someone tries that old card) just people who opinion differs from his and going off the OP of this thread now we have the anouce and flounce. Now for the record I feel no sympathy to wards Peaches whats so ever. :-D

A calm, considered & compassionate debate is usually enjoyable to read despite some diverse interpretations & conflicting opinions.

Let's keep the debates 'clean'.

I never seen what McB had posted
but think he should just pick his toys up
and post a different thread and get on with it

we all cant have the same opinion
but we are all entitled to have one
how boring life would be if we all agreed all the time :-D :-D

Lynching? *falls off chair laughing*

This is a chat board on a website not the Spanish Inquisition.

Post something that offends or upsets people and accept that they will tell you so or don't post at all.

Thank you Graham, I certainly did not feel any hardship against him what so ever......

KittytheLearnerCook Report 3 May 2014 12:02

I understand your view Graham............sometimes it can seem that the poster is being personally got at because they hold an opinion others don't.

Others with the same view then add to the thread and it can appear they are working as one to get at the poster, sometimes they are, other times it is pure coincidence.

Either way, the poster may decide to leave or stay and simply delete the contentious post or posts.

It has always been that way here....which is why I will be another absentee as soon as my sub runs out.

What a load of cobblers! :-P

I think if people are THAT sensitive to different opinions then forums are not the place to post.

A general rule is, post a contentious, rude, mocking, insensitive or gloating post then you WILL get opposing opinions which one may not like.

It doesn't mean it's a deliberate attack on the poster, rather than a strong view against what is posted.

Insinuating people are ganging up on someone, without consideration on what was posted to prompt the response does nothing more than stir the pot & cause more unrest.

Sadly because Brian has over reacted to the first thread by posting this one, its now escalated (because of silly comments) into a situation where its going to be more difficult to reconsider & stay without looking a bit foolish.

I hope he reconsiders, removes the threads & moves on.
Life is too short to take umbrage over a different opinion & leaving these threads will only attract more arguments..

Graham Report 3 May 2014 11:45

Mersey, I wasn't having a go at you personally. And I'm sure no individual felt any hardship towards Brian. But, putting all the posts together, it seemed as if everybody was ganging up on him. It really didn't look good.
I'm sorry if I've offended anybody. I'm also sorry that Brian has felt it's time to leave.

I posted on that thread as did others and I for one did not lynch him!!!! :-| :-| :-|

You go look on thread and see what I said !!

Do not put everybody in the same category...

Had enough now because it is getting way out of hand ! :-P

Graham

Publically lynched !!! this is getting ridiculous now !!

Graham

Graham Report 3 May 2014 11:26

After reading both the threads about Peaches Geldof I was appalled by the way Brian was publically lynched. This sort of behaviour has lead to a number of people leaving these boards recently. Anybody new to the boards could be put off by what is being aired. The number of posts on these boards has drastically declined recently. It's not hard to see why. :-(

ஐ+*¨^¨*+e+*¨^¨*+ஐ Mildred Honkinbottom Report 3 May 2014 11:24

I disagree too Mersey,

The freedom to express opinion without fear of reprisal goes both ways Sharron.

You are labelling those who gave their opinions on what was an insensitive & gloating post, as being part of an attacking pack.

So it's ok for Brian to post the post he did without reprisal, but its ok for those of us who voiced our opposing opinions to get a backlash?.
