I think most people would assume that all birth certificates had time of birth on them.

I think it was a daughter of one of them who was doing the family history who discovered it

Interesting that they are taking part in "twin research" as the pair known to have lived apart the longest-nature over nurture :-)

Lovely for them to meet each other, and what a lot of years to catch up on :-)
Do we know how it came to light, ie was it someone doing their family tree who made the discovery that they were twins?

Regarding the certificate.... I can only think that neither of them realised what it means to see time of birth recorded on a birth cert. Ask anyone who is not into genealogy and I doubt they would know . :-)

It was lovely to see them together, sad that it took so long but I hope they will have several more years to catch up with things together.

Maybe they didn't see their birth certificates, or if they did thought everyone's time of birth was recorded.?

I find it exciting that they have been reunited, but don't understand how they, or one of them didn't know about the other one, wouldn't there be times when on their birth certificates to show which one was born first?
