Our dentist sends cards when we're due for a checkup (every six months). |

My dentist has a new system, where you fill in a (tick box) card, that asks questions like, if you smoke, drink fizzy drinks, use fluoride toothpaste etc, then, based on the state of your teeth and your habits, he determines whether to see you in 6 months or a year. |

It isn't only NHS dentists who strike you off for non-attendance, many private ones do it too. |

Our dentist opted out of the NHS good dentist if a bit expensive. We always gave an appointment given to us for a check up when we finish treatment. Then no reminder sent, miss it, you pay. |
