Of course the village needs me Gwyn.

It takes a long time to train a village idiot to my level!

What ever their reasons it´´s good that you have what you wanted which is the house and no more upheaval.

Sharron

Sharron Report 22 May 2014 22:01

I sussed that one but, whereas I want to live here, I would not want to own it.

It was Gerry built.

Fred knew the men who worked on it and most of them came straight out of school and were sent to Woolworths to buy some tools.

There is not a straight line in the house and there is a crack down the wall.

The roof is eighty odd years old, I wouldn't want to own one of those.

the reason they have did it is so
if you decided to use the right to buy
you couldn't claim freds discount

I also jumped to a conclusion when I saw the heading!

Glad to know you will get to stay .......................

but that sounds like bureaucracy gone mad!

why cannot they just transfer the tenancy to you???

I'm sure that's what they did up in Ashton when my sis-i-l's mother died ........ sis-i-l had been living with her for several years as carer, and the tenancy of the little flat (1 bedroom) was just transferred over.

Mind you ............. that was over25 years ago, so maybe sanity still reigned then :-D

I hope they don't want to dig up the scullery floor, in case you've hidden him there!!

My heart sank into my boots just now - then I opened up this thread.

Seems odd, but who cares as long as the tenancy is transferred.
