Good luck with moving forward with this Lisa, must be tempting to make contact as soon as possible but write the letter as suggested, read it a few times before posting and then go for it!

IF you do decide to approach him, be very very cautious


Consider the following questions ........................


does he know about you?

does his new family, especially his partner, know about you?



I think the advice many people on this site would give is .....................


do NOT phone him

write a letter that says something along the lines of you have been doing some family research and you believe that there might be a connection between you and him. Give your name and birth date

Enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope .....................


and then wait and see what happens.


He may or may not wish to make contact.




Others may, or will, have other advice for you.

I have been pondering over the past few mths re finding my biological father, I signed up to this site and within 5 min I have foun him, he has move area and has family. I'm confused, do I leave be be or do I take things futher. Any advice would be greatly revived many thanks L
