Hope all goes well but although your little cat is an old girl she is an old girl who has had a good life thanks to your tender loving care. There isn't anything else that you can personally do for her now except keep giving her the love an attention as you have over the last seventeen years. |

Cannot do anything other than send a hug and as others have said keep giving her the love you have over the years. <3 |

Shirley, I do understand how you feel, I had a similar situation with one of my cats, Toby, who was constantly at the vets when my son was just 2, he seemed to want to stay with us but wasn't right, and they couldn't get a handle on why he was so poorly and losing weight. In the end I went to a different vet, one I came to trust as you do yours, who would tell it like it is, and she advised letting Toby go as his quality of life was becoming poor. He was about 9, bless him. |

Oh Shirley you have my full sympathy. We too have an old Lady in much the same situation. We had her at six weeks old and she has graced us with her loving company for over 17 years. She can still be a feisty old lass but definitely has her very off days. We know we are now just waiting for her time to come same as you on the vets advice. Still giving her loads of love although not cuddles , she has never liked them. |
