I think D-Day was a general term for when an military operation was gonna take place but has just stuck with the Normandy Landings which was Operation Overlord :-) :-) :-)

I have just remembered the Captain of one of the ships my dad served on, was

Sir Peter Scott who started The Wild Fowl Trust at Slimbridge.
