Claiming to know who is reporting threads is daft.

GR won't tell anyone, so anything else is guesswork or trouble making. It just makes people suspicious of each other.

I'm sure we all have our theories but only GR know for sure and anything else is uninformed speculation.

On Genes chat, none of us in making any money out of the news. And most people are far more intelligent than the average. So we do get some excellent debates - quite heated often.

I remember some early opinions of mine about welfare scroungers were attacked rather vehemently. Attacked by people who really knew about it. I think it does change your attitudes. I notice mine have changed slightly over last couple of years.

But I doubt that I will ever believe that Kelvin McKenzie (Sun Editor) was an honourable man who spoke to 4 unnamed police officers after the tragedy who told him that Liverpool supporters had urinated on police etc. Any unbiased rational person could see the way the Liverpool supporters reacted on that fateful day, the way that Liverpool has united over it. The Sun would normally be a very popular paper in Liverpool, good for sport etc. But only 12,000 take it daily and I expect far less wave copies about in public.

Susan10146857 - I can assure you this thread was not put up to cause trouble, it was merely put up to highlight, that every so often the silly season seems to emerge, where individuals end up in a slanging match.

When I first started posting, I fell into the trap of retaliating to comments I considered as hostile or irrelevant, thankfully I quickly realised the best thing to do was not to respond, and if it was my thread - delete it, if the thread belonged to someone else - exit the thread.

Only way to keep BP in check sometimes, OFITG :-D ;-)

Susan10146857 Report 11 Jun 2014 15:23

I am not disputing your reasons OFITG .....but as a matter of interest......did you get the responses you expected? What sort of responses did you expect, or was your OP just a comment on what you were thinking and you expected no response at all......an honest enquiry :-)

I don't think slanging matches ever need highlighting on GR .....they are there for all to clearly see!

" I can think of many other topics that would upset people a lot. They are never raised - a sort of agreement between posters, I guess."

Tosh!

Kay???? Report 11 Jun 2014 15:36

John you have no idea what media news reports that go up that may be evoke upset to someone,,,,they just sit quite and dont cause a fuss,,,,,,,,,You are the only one whos banging the drum the loudest........,,,,,,,the other *thread* not one person said they were upset that the *news item* had been posted or that they had any connections to the tragic event,........not so long ago everything you posted was seen as *on purpose* to cause or stir up and was spit on from a great height.you proclaimed that your posts were all innocent.

***The post wasnt about Hillsboro it was about Liverpool postal workers refusing to deliver posted items, which happen to the the Sun and do they have a right to refuse delivering posted items.***

You have taken it upon yourself to be advocate for all and carrying this NO PROOF notion on.

Susan10146857 - to be honest I am not sure what sort of responses I expected, my opening post was just really what I thought when I logged on this morning and flicked through the threads on the General Chat Board. I certainly did not expect it to be a follow up to the Posties and Liverpool thread.

Due to my health, eyesight problems, and medication routine, I log of usually around 5:00pm and in bed every evening by 7:30pm so I miss most of the fun :-(

"But there are a couple (and I can name them for you in a pm) who report continually and they are the reason that people c and p jokes all the time, and c and p strong opinions.

Yes, I absolutely know who reported me 12 times last night. Simple process of elimination. "

JustJohn perhaps you would care to PM me with these names?

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 11 Jun 2014 15:58

Have asked Genes if they could issue a list of people who have made the last 50 reports. Freedom of information request, to stop tittle-tattle and bad feeling.

This should come soon on main announcemnet board, and I think it will totally clarify that Errol and myself have not reported any posts recently.
