hi everyone

Im just curious so I thought id ask

when you have reached a milestone birthday 18,21, 40 or whatever did you do anything out of the ordinary if so what did you do

ive got a milestone birthday next year so im looking for something a bit crazey so looking for ideas lol

Our 'milestones' tend to revolve around eating -

At 18 (edit - must have been 21) a meal out with my best friend +1, to-be OH, both sets of parents and the now sister-in-law. My 'aunty' might also have been there....a lovely lady and sorely missed.

Both my and OH's most recent milestones involved a nuclear family meal out, at their expense. In addition, for mine, we were treated to a weekend away.

The few days away seems to be the norm for my cohort of friends.

Nothing particularly adventurous, but its what we enjoy.

I can't remember what I did on any of my milestone birthdays :-S So I guess they must have been pretty good ;-)

Next week I'm having a "milestone"

I've been trying (with no luck) to get Paul McCartney to come and sing with me.

OH has his 80th on 18th June, which is amazing to say the least after the close shave three years ago... we have loads of very special surprises for him, cant wait to see his face...

It is my 60th next month .My kids would have liked me to have a good old 'do' but I'm of to Paris with OH for a few days :-D

Like Det most of ours seem to involve meals or weekends away, but for my 70th (now you all now I'm ancient lol) my family arranged a flight in a hot air balloon for me and OH. There were 12 people in our balloon. We all helped with getting the balloon ready, had a lovely flight of about an hour and a glass of champagne when we landed.

ALL OUR MILESTONE BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARY'S ALWAYS END IN DISASTER.
AS LAST WEEK IT WAS MY 65th BIRTHDAY,,OH IN HOSPITAL ,ME AT HOSPITAL
MY OH DON'T BELIEVE IN BIRTHDAYS ANNIVERSARY'S OR EVEN CHRISTMAS,

Dizzi.....next birthday, give him a real surprise and throw him and his clothes out :-D :-D

Just kidding, honest. :-D

We always have the family round for a good old knees up, mind you we do that a lot anyway.

How about a hot air balloon flight?

My Oh has a Milestone coming up and if he thinks for one minute that it is an excuse to get plastered he will be wearing said milestone round his neck!

My milestones have for my 60th and 70th coincided with first ruby and then gold anniversaries as the dates are just 2 weeks apart for my 60th/Ruby wedding and my retirement we had a big 'do' at the golf club. For my 70th we were at daughters and all went out for a meal then 2 weeks later we went to Jersey. So nothing adventurous for us. :-D

I have to add, in this area the craze for celebrations seems to be wing walking.

The only one I can recall was my 40th. I had a completely new hairdo, got my ears pierced and went up in a hot air balloon........and I'm scared of heights!! :-S I remember it was a big safari balloon and when we came down we did a 2 field landing .........across an electric fence.

OH had a sea-plane flight over the Inner Hebrides for his 70th.

Elder son had glider lessons for his 50th and younger son a weekend in a posh London hotel with a theatre visit.

I don't care if Paul can't sing......... I'm half deaf.......... and if he turned up here I'd take my glasses off..... so that he'd look less wrinkly.
