You better bother coming on here Stella, you're my kinda person, I can insult you, and you recipricate, and all in fun :-D

No idea why your post was rr'd, didn't see it. I'm sure GR will reinstate it though, it can't of been that bad, you're far too nice to add anything out of order :-D

Island Report 21 Jun 2014 12:20

I saw Stellas post and was about to respond as there appeared to be a misunderstanding. Sadly, somebody took it upon themselves to make it their business to report it.

Isn't there enough upset on the boards for you, the RR'r, already?

Island Report 21 Jun 2014 12:41

Why would I be going anywhere John?

I read most of the threads, but don't post on all of them.

If I have something to add I do, but when things get "weird" I leave 'em to it.

Mayfield Report 21 Jun 2014 13:48

The same reasons made me leave about a year ago, but as I wanted to contact some tree owners on here I signed up for another year, but sad to say things do not seem to have improved much.

Have two mottos for forums, the one at the bottom of my posts which broadly translated is "Manners maketh man" and the other is "Don't feed the Trolls" ;-)

Merlin

Merlin Report 21 Jun 2014 14:02

A calm, considered, & compassionate debate is lovely. Differing views are welcome as long as they are made without being disrespectful of other contributors.

Name calling is sometimes used by immature youngsters in the school playground. But can I assume that most contributors to threads generally are 'mature' in mind & thought?

Merlin I cannot help but feel that comments such as yours could only serve to potentially fan the flames of a widely recognised situation.

Merlin :-D :-D Genes are planning to sponsor events all over UK (one in WA too). Members can support gladiator of their dreams. No reporting, but loud booing and cheering encouraged. Then a free drink (paid for by evening's victor) down the local hostelry and all off to next venue. :-D ;-)

I won't let misplaced egos put me off................but the boredom factor is pretty high sometimes.

I just go up my tree and come back again with renewed hope that the egos will have shrunk................... ;-)

You're not allowed to climb trees and collect egos, Kitty :-S ;-)

John....if I could I would pop some with a pin until normality resumed :-D

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 21 Jun 2014 15:01

:-D :-D Are you coming to our first gig? Merlin is promoter and it will be in Australind (wherever that might be :-S :-S). Leeds area possibly.

Easier to support John the Baptist. Far more empty seats on that side.

One thing about being away with only occasional WiFi is that you have to ration your time on here. That means only going on threads that are interesting so I have bypassed a lot of silliness. :-D

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 21 Jun 2014 16:28

I don't post on here as much as I might because I find as soon as a discussion on an interesting topic gets going someone will post a remark that's a bit sarcastic or offensive or just silly. Then someone else will respond to it and it escalates till it gets personal and nasty. A witty remark or a bit of irony can lighten or perk up a thread but some members do not seem to know when to stop.

Well I see Stella's post has returned......shame she has given up on GR forever, I used to enjoy her hot chocolate of a night :-(

Shame on the RR ers :-| :-|

I have contacted Stella, to she has to return, as she is sane, and has a sense of humour :-D

Come back at once Stella :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

After a while you do get to recognise those threads which are posted to be intentionally contentious.

Unless truly offensive, I just stay away.

Rather like the TV if you do not like what you are seeing, turn over.
