Oh and I asked if my son went down on one knee. N. said he did, and it was all a complete surprise, she had been wondering when he would ask her as they had talked about it a while back and she had shown him a ring she liked, but he sort of 'missed' several occasions when they were alone and she had thought he might use the opportunity.

This time they were out wandering round Norwich and he pretended he was videoing birds in the park (feathered ones) and then went down on one knee, so they have a video of it which they will show me when there is time. Last evening was all a bit rushed as son was waiting to get off to play football, a regular Monday evening arrangement with his pals.

Can't wait to see the video

I am a very happy bunny thanks, but nearly had a heart attack last evening.

I had a doctor's apptmt so told my son I would call round afterwards, intending to take a card and see the ring etc etc

There was an horrendous thunderstorm and deluge on my way to the surgery, hailstones, lightening and roads flooding, it was a nightmare.

Saw the doc who wants yet more blood tests done, the previous ones didn't do all the vit d, b and diabetes etc altho my thyroid, and internal organs are all ok. The only thing I need to do is lose weight but I already knew that, it's difficult.

Anyway went to son's flat, little lad was still up and came through to see me. i asked if he was excited about the wedding to come, which they think will be in a couple of years (I think that's finance determined) and then N. said to her lad, tell Liz the other news. He said I am going to have a baby sister!!! Well I nearly passed out and future d.i.l. realised what I was thinking and hastened to tell me this new baby is going to little lad's dad and stepmum! They already have a little boy who must be about 3 or 4 now so they are happy to have a girl on the way. Future d.i.l. said Oh Sorry, I would never tell you like that! I wouldn't mind if she had if it had been the situation, but I will just have to wait!!!

On my son's 32nd birthday in July his future brother in law will be 21 so there is to be a combined dinner out for all of us, including future d.i.l.'s Mum and Grandparents so we can all get to know each other. That will be nice.

Then there is to be an Engagement party at the Waterfront venue, where a couple of years ago N. arranged a surprise 30th party for my lad. It's where they met so to have the party there again will be lovely and of course, I can go along and leave when things get too hectic as the party area gets opened to the public using the other bars and dance area after midnight.

It's lovely to have so many nice things to look forward to.

I am very happy that my lad is with someone I get on with, and really pleased that he feels secure and comfortable about his choice of partner for the long term future (fingers crossed)

I was out yesterday at the coast and felt a sort of pressure on my back, a seagull had dumped on me so that should mean good luck all round lol Made a right mess of my cardigan but better that than had it been a bit earlier, when I was wearing a top with a lowish back - urgh!

Thanks all, I do have a rather nice hat I haven't worn yet, but will have to wait and see what sort of wedding it is, they haven't really mentioned that far ahead yet and don't have a lot of spare cash around as my son has only been back in work since last November. He has to wait another few months to know if this job is permanent, altho his appraisals each month have been good so hope the Council are happy with him and keep him on.

Also they will need a larger place if they decide to increase their family as the flat is small now they have had to make a bedroom for the little lad out of part of the lounge.

A nice lottery win would help right now, altho I have been lucky again recently, had two or three £25 wins over the past two months and one or two smaller amounts, got £5.80 yesterday - nothing tonight tho.

I haven't yet met Natalie's Mum or Grandparents yet, she knows me and her Gran will get on well as apparently we are similar, both talk for England lol, and are close to the same age. We will be getting together soon, I already know her younger brother well and he is a nice lad, always chats if I see him at a local supermarket where he works part time while studying.
