Amazing!!
I'm a very 'handy' person. Dad was useless but loved doing DIY, and I used to help him, so I learnt my skills from him :-D :-D

Started doing it myself when ex put up some very floral wallpaper (very small flowers) in the bedroom, and decided it was quicker to just put it sideways above the wide window. I could see what he had done - despite having a very small, very repetitive pattern, there was a pattern, and it went wrong above the window!! Irritated me all the time we lived in that house :-|

Could do with a strong handyman at the mo

In the high winds one arm of my whirly line got damaged .managed to wedge it back and been using it for a few weeks but it's given up the ghost so it's been dumped.

Went to B&Qs to look at new ones but they were all too big
Bought one from Amazon .said it had a 45mm circumference spike which was the size of the one already in the ground

NOPE it's just to big to fit so need the new spike banged in . Hubby not capable nor am I so b frustrated not being able to hang out my washing

My OH is a good handyman.

But hammering nails in like the man in the video isn't something he wants to try!

:-D

When I was younger, I had to learn how to put a plug on. Dad just could not get at the fiddly bits. Seen many an appliance or its plug thrown across the room in frustration.

Matter of needs must.

Can turn my hand to most things. But cannot hang wallpaper for love or money and I WAS married to a painter and decorator.

I am quite good at DIY and can unblock a drain like an expert.

Being married to a builder who rarely does any work at home and retches at the thought of a blocked drain, I have to be :-D

When I got redundancy I picked up loads of odd jobs so moved into being a handyman.
It was a little embarrassing when I turned up a A&E with a fair bit of my thumb hanging off (sharp those Stanley knives!) as I held up my bloodied hand they asked what work do you do? There was, much tittering when I said Handyman :-D :-D

My hubby has always been the 'handy man' in our house as he was a builder/carpenter and had many useful skills and lots of good ideas. Since his mini stroke he still thinks he can do as much but alas not. Our upstairs toilet seat has been loose for weeks ,lol, yesterday he decided he would 'fix it' lots of swear words later and one now completely broken toilet seat. off to B & ? again. lol. Love him to bits though. :-)
