I don't like them either, Its what Scots (I'm one) call a Bumby Tartan. more like a dress.
Should have used them marching across the fields in the American war of Independence .
The Yanks would have died laughing.

Avitar Says: Now if we're very quick, we might get round( the opening ceremony) before anyone notices us!

If you do Facebook, it's found here : A Wee Bird Told Me... Glasgow

Hi LadyScozz,
Glasgow is the place to be right now.

Middle daughter is going to the opening ceremony at Celtic Park tonight.
I know loads of the volunteers but they are sworn to secrecy and won't tell me anything about tonight :-( :-(
I'm going to the closing ceremony at Hampden :-D :-D

I'm wondering if my insomnia will be still around during the games :-(

If I want to watch the opening ceremony live, I'll have to stay awake or get up really early, because it starts (my time) at 5.30 Thursday morning.

I'm looking forward to seeing the redfaced Scots in that ridiculous uniform ~ NOT!

:-)

With the money already spent kitting out the Team, and the lack of time before the Games, it's highly unlikely that they'd be given a different design!

easy for her to say, she doesn't have to wear it.

Some of the comments on Buzzfeed and Twitter and hysterical.

"Eurovision entry.... circa 1980"

The petition has started and currently stands at 907 ( 9.04pm)

My absolute favourite comment so far...
"The feeling of humiliation by association is overwhelming"

Grief! not easy on the eye :-(

I am not in favour of that ghastly blue pattern, what a pity.....

GlasgowLass

GlasgowLass Report 8 Jul 2014 12:13

I saw it on the news on Sunday and... it's awful.

One look at the designer and I'm not surprised!

OH thinks it's a ploy to encourage the "No" voters, as no self respecting Scot would endorse that outfit!

LadyScozz

LadyScozz Report 8 Jul 2014 10:56

Oh dear...... the best I can say is, they will be easy to find in a crowd!

:-)

If that's an indication of the events uniforms, I can't wait to see the Scotsmen competing in the hurdles, high jump & pole vault :-D

No idea what the Aussies will be wearing at the opening ceremony, but the usual green & gold with a "splash" of blue for events:

The blue dresses are not dissimilar in colour to my old school summer uniform - except ours were a nicer pattern.

Yuk :-(
