Oh any small left overs are put out for the birds and the hedgehog so we never use out waste food box, don't even know where it is lol

I have to blow my own trumpet and say that I am good at making a meal out of odds and sods, rarely know what I will be cooking more than one day ahead, I have to go with the way I am feeling and how much effort is involved and the time scale too.

I love oven chips but we hardly have them these days, we have rice, pasta or plain boiled or jacket spuds.

Wouldn't know a turkey twizzler if it slapped me in the eye!
Have to say Sharron that all that cooking business with lentils and barley and stuff sounds a bit healthy to me, and soooo time consuming :-\ wouldn't your time and money be better spent having hair extensions and acrylic nails or summat ;-)

Seriously though...talking of leftovers, we don't throw them away in our house either, I couldn't do it, neither can I afford to !! There are a million ways to use up leftovers, the easiest being to blitz them (with a stock cube & a little water) into a healthy (ouch!!) soup.

OMG I forgot all about the acrylic nails and hair extensions!

It's got to be those square looking nails that look like a bit of acrylic stuck on your finger. Can't have them looking real.

Then there are the eyebrows to get tattooed on so I look like George Robey.

We had a Moluccan cockatoo that would steal whatever we were eating.

His particular favourite was chips.

It was very unfair because I never once had a dip in his seed bowl.

Maybe this should go on the Christian thread. Dorothy Parker had a parrot.

She called it Onan because it spilled it's seeds on the ground.

We do use our food waste bin but not for left overs, for meat bones, fruit stones/pips, sometimes banana skins although mostly they go in the compost, and also sometimes for left over gravy past its sell by date.

Ann - dig your banana skins by your rose bushes (if you have any)

Do you know ripe banana skins are good for covering scuff marks on brown leather shoes if you have no shoe polish,,,,rub it over ,wait till dry and buff ,,,,,,can work on wood furniture as well.
