Yes from today I am officially a drain on the state, one of those old people that ought to go away and die instead of living as long as possible.

I am taking up a home and resources that would be much better supporting a large family on benefits, or someone from abroad that loves Britain so much they want the whole system changed to suit them.

Yes today at 65 I became a grumpy (sorry even more grumpy) coffin dodger :-0 :-0 :-0

I've got a friend, 64 now. He was a self-employed carpenter - mainly working for agencies. When he was 58, the recession hit - work dried up, and for the first time in his life, he was on jobseekers - and what an eye-opener that was for him!

When he turned 60, to get him off the unemployment statistics, they stated paying him pension credits.

He calls himself a 'Plastic Pensioner'

I was born 3hrs and 20 minutes too late, so 66 it is :-P
