Ages ago I got an infestation of earwigs and greenfly plus. slugs and snails on the various plants growing in the rockery and raised beds at the back of of our pond . |

I used to hate earwigs when I was a little girl, my Dad made us kids a big 'tent; in the back garden, out of hessian sacks from the brewery and old tilts from the lorries, it had a roll up front which hung down at night (not sure why) Whenever we unrolled the front piece dozens of earwigs would fall out, I used to scream the place down. And if one should run over the table where a vase of dahlias were - well you would hear me in the next street. |

I make a spray with garlic (in water with a squirt of dishwashing liquid)...... it keeps most bugs off my potted plants. |

Another method to catch earwigs is to put a paper bag over a stick, near the plant that they are attracted to and put something like a bit of hay in the bag. In the morning, shake earwigs out and kill them - thats the worst part.! |
