Its interesting to note that the Malaysian Flight MH17 which was blocked from the Ukraine route on Sunday. said no worries and flew over the Syrian war instead.
which had even more sophisticated missiles on the ground. shows how difficult it is to get to Asia today.

The Russian Rebels are making mincemeat of the Crashsite.

Once again the UN is showing it is powerless to stop this atrocity.
Australia took the lead in moving the UN to adopt a unanimous vote condeming the action etc, but a bit late to prevent the disgusting behaviour on the crash site.
lets hope the Russians cant wriggle out of this one.

What kind of people could shoot down a plane Ann? But I agree, disgusting that property has been stolen, why weren't security guards posted to prevent thieving? But then I guess the people are very poor.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 20 Jul 2014 16:23

at last it seems the majority of the victims have been placed in a refrigerated train - disgusting to hear that many of the victims' property has been stolen - what kind of people could do such a thing

Dear All

May all those who died rest in peace.

And may the people who committed this atrocity be caught.

Deepest sympathy to all the families and friends.

Sincere wishes

A grandfather and his three grandchildren from Perth were on the flight. He was bringing them home early from a European holiday, as they were due to return to school next Monday when the school holidays finish.

The parents are (were) still in Amsterdam :-(

My sympathy to all the families who have lost loved ones,
and sincere condolences to the family of John and Liam, of the Newcastle United faithful, who lost their lives travelling to New Zealand. The lads were well known supporters who travelled the world to watch the Toon play, and there is a tribute for them at St. James Park.

RIP all who lost their lives.

The husband wife and child that should have been on the plane and weren't were bumped off because the flight was full when they checked in so they had to take another flight. Talk about lucky.

One family were on the plane because they missed a previous flight, another family should have been on plane and missed it or something.

Fate has a hand all the while.

I just read a bit more about this dreadful loss to the world of so many eminent and caring people. It made me angry, as it often does, that the people are called tragic! They aren't/weren't/ They are victims of a tragedy to their families and them, they are not tragic.

Maggie, a sad loss for your extended family and when it's closer to home, it hits even harder than just reading a newspaper article. My sympathy to your niece by marriage, your nephew and your daughter.

it was just said on the news one family from Australia who were on the plane also lost family members on the missing plane in march.

there poor relatives who have to deal with this double tragedy.

it beggars belief.

James Gallagher the acting health editor for the BBC has reported that a large number of delegates en-route to the Aids 2014 conference, the biggest meeting of the world's leading researchers and campaigners on HIV/Aids, were on the flight. He said that around 100 delegates are estimated to have been on the flight, including Joep Lange, a former president of the International Aids Society, he was a prominent figure in HIV research from the earliest days of the virus being discovered.

hi,
It's not too bad for me, but my daughter was in regular contact with the family.
My brother in law (who also lives in Aus) is due in UK next weekend, as his aunt is seriously ill. He must be torn about what to do, as I know he's very fond of his daughter in law's family.

Maggie what sad new for your daughter, and for you too to hear about your nephew's wife's family I am so sorry to hear that. Thinking of the poor families who have lost people and those who dies. R.I.P.
