Alas TessAkaBridgetTheFidget - my mobility problems mean that these days I am no longer able to go and watch it - but will enjoy the highlights on the television :-) |

A mighty long enjoyable weekend in prospect plus a hefty policing bill to pay, followed swiftly by busy court appearances of the minority of miserable misbehaving miscreants who cause unnecessary trouble & worry for the nearby residents. |

Dermot - I used to enjoy going to the Notting Hill Carnival, but to be honest, these days, due to the many serious incidents that have occurred in recent years, I am glad I can no longer get up town to watch it. |

In a few minutes we're off to watch the carnival parade in our .little town. The carnival is being reinstated after many years of not happening. Can't compare with Notting Hill. In fact it'll probably be a few Majorettes and maybe 20 floats but no crime or mess and everyone in a good mood; a real family occasion |

I can remember when the Notting Hill Carnival was that - a real family occasion, alas over the years it is not the safe and fun event that it used to be - an event for the many spoiled by the few :-( |
