It should be possible to donate money to charity without the absurd antics of an American ginger group and Comic Relief to name but two. I certainly manage it ok using tax efficient direct payments.

In any case with the chilly weather the local supermarket has stopped selling bags of crushed ice and the fridge/freezer can only make a little at a time which I need for other purposes.

Of course it is easy enough to donate to charities .But this is one of the Illness's that many people are still unaware of.So 'Absurd Antics', if it gets the message across is all good with me.I don't care how stupid something might seem as long as it raises much needed funds for research and care .When my Dad was suffering from MND there was very little knowledge of how to manage and help people with it.
So I take my hat off to anyone taking part in The Ice Bucket Challenge.Thankyou <3

Lots of people on my FB wall are doing it too.
I thought you either did the challenge OR donated. People seem to be taking the cold soaking AND donating :-S

More power to their hypothermia :-D

You are right Maggie.
Most people are accepting the challenge and donating too.

However, it is raising awaremess of MND.
I did have an understanding of fMotor Neuron Disease, but did not know that there were 5 different types or that ALS is the most common form.

This is what the Ice Bucket Challenge is all about...raising awareness!

It's very easy (for some people) to make a donation to charity.

The ice bucket challenge is a positive way of promoting MND awareness and the donations will help in the research of the disease.

Several member of our families have taken part and posted on FB it looks like they had great fun.The important thing is for every person taking part and donating they will be helping to spread the word.

my friend just rang me - she's being "done" at 4:30 today - she says she has to nominate three people - I've threatened her with retribution if she nominates me - I'll donate instead

I would donate but not have the ice bucket on me, I believe it to be dangerous for some and there are warmer things to do for good causes. :-0
