Dermot

Dermot Report 27 Aug 2014 11:33

My default position is that, more than likely, Nigel & Boris are both dead cert winners in the forthcoming election.

Send him over to Oz..we could do with a character in Politics other than the rather rotund Clive Palmer ;-) :-D :-D

TheBlackKnight Report 27 Aug 2014 09:03

I'll throw another name in the ring for Prime Minister - Peter Kay :-D

Well he'll probably do better than what we got. :-D

OneFootInTheGrave Report 27 Aug 2014 08:26

Boris Johnson as Prime Minister - I don't think that would be good for anyone who lives in social housing, when I look at what he is is doing in many areas of London, I am reminded of - The Highland Clearances :-|

SheilaSomerset

SheilaSomerset Report 26 Aug 2014 22:19

He is a very clever man and has a very practised knack of appearing to great advantage (when it suits him) in order to appear 'populist'. Every little quirk and eccentricity in speech and action is, I'm pretty sure, rehearsed.

I believe him to be very able but politically naïve and too self-serving to toe a party line. As Rose says, a mind like a steel trap, but for the 'greater good'? Hmmm...

Just listening to the news,

reporter asking 'would Farage make you more or less likely to vote UKIP?'

reply " I'm Romanian"

:-D Bazinga!

I think he would make a very good Dormouse in a production of Alice in Wonderland ;-)

OK Gwynn ....I am all ears.....So Boris isn't our best bod for the future.....I do wonder though....Who is? And what are we heading for? So far no-one or party has given any thing to this country, in my opinion......They have taken and given away plenty though. I am disillusioned. :-(

MotownGal Report 26 Aug 2014 22:10

I said over a year ago to friends that Boris could become Leader of the Conservatives, and I was poo-poohed, they are not so sure now.

He has said he is standing to become an MP again, and it is a safe seat, so I see no reason how he cannot enter Parliament again.

Once in.................who knows?

I have seen dear old Boris, in the Upmarket Supermarket, with his basket over his arm, walking around ruffling his hair. It is very blonde, but has a slight pink hue to it.

:-0

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 26 Aug 2014 22:04

I was being sarky.

If the Tories pick Boris as leader most people with any hope for the future of the country will flock to Labour. He would be a disaster and an embarrassment. Just like Silvio Berlusconi was in his time.

You are quite right Rose!......a man of steel ......a super hero!.....faster than Superman and Brighter than Batman! ( well the Del boy version anyway ) Now stop being serious and let's get back to the fluffy Boris we all know and love/hate.......and his wayward hair. The country has already gone to pot so a good laugh will do us all good :-D.........

( and I bet that is the way the punters will vote ;-). )

Rambling

Rambling Report 26 Aug 2014 21:54

I rather like Boris, he amuses me and has a knack of saying what I might say in my less rational and more emotional outbursts ;-)

But I don't agree with Guinevere, I think it would be a disaster for Labour if he ran for PM. He has that 'everyman' guise that Tony Blair had for a while, it could just get the Tories into power again. Like Thatcher going to M & S and pretending to be an 'ordinary woman shopper' did back in 1979.

Don't be fooled, under that floppy mop and bumbling manner I think there is a mind like a steel trap, and a fearsome ambition. ;-)

Oh dear NO! Gwynn .....'faints' ....I can feel myself getting in a political flush!.....Not Labour......He isn't is he?....sheesh you can't half go off someone quickly....But having said all this......The others are just as bad......I retract my initial statement and replace it with......
