Terrible! I was looking forward to retiring.

Trying to think of some sort of business to start up.
One of my brothers has suggested I sell my books on e-bay. :-P

I've suggested he employs a PA/admin (me) for his bonsai pot business,(he makes the pots) but for some reason he's declined the offer.
Says he's managed perfectly okay for the past 30 years without me :-(

I may have to do a plumbing course and learn to drive.

Bit of a bummer though isn't it?

ONLY 14 months!
I've had another 6 years added on to mine. It used to be 2 years, now it's 8. :-| :-| :-| :-|

...and I'm going to have to resign soon, 'cos the jobs cr*p and getting cr*pper :-| :-| :-| :-|

Sharron Report 8 Sep 2014 20:35

At the end of the seven years we had all had enough.

I was looking forward to gathering myself, being self- indulgent and doing bugger all for a bit.

What is so annoying is that it will only be for fourteen months now, then I will get my pension and OH will get his MOD pension.

"It is a good thing I am only off with stress.Would we still have to go in if it was leprosy?!"

Yep, and they'd make you buy your own bell to ring :-|

be gentle with yourself Sharron, you've been living with being a carer for a long while, I think it's when you stop that it hits you how much of a strain it's been, how much it has changed your ability to get a restful sleep, and that's aside from dealing with your grief.

Take care x

Sharron enjoy the little things like the quiz and do follow Maggies advice. You are certainly not stupid just as has been said overwhelmed by red tape and officialdom. <3

Okay Brains!!!! :-D :-D Well done!

See not stupid, just, as you yourself said, overwhelmed.
Then the crass insensitivity/ignorance of the corporate dolts (and, yes, I work for corporate dolts, but I blame the higher paid ones) doesn't help.

Glad you enjoyed yourself and got a free meal (or two) into the bargain. :-D :-D :-D <3 <3

Sharron Report 7 Sep 2014 16:47

Thanks everybody.

The last time I felt anything like this was when I was eighteen and there was a great deal of despair involved as well. Understandable I think, and I had no support at all at home, just tranquilizers.

This time there is no despair but I am just overwhelmed. Probably the reason I didn't see it coming.

Anyway, we went to the monthly quiz last night and won again.

This morning it was the inter-pub quiz on the local radio and we won our round so I should be feeling a bit jolly.

Those two outings must have cost us something like eight pounds for the two of us but there was a buffet last night and food on the bar this morning which we made full use of and we won a tenner last night, less the three pounds stake, one came in late so paid his own stake. The other two didn't take their share of the winnings.

It all helps, as the old lady said.

Make sure you get your oats Sharron, porridge is very calming and might help and it's cheap too.

I hope you will feel better soon, it's not surprising that small things are sparking a reaction, so treat yourself kindly, don't call yourself stupid, you are far from it.

Thinking of you

Why does bl**dy officialdom and cr*p come all at once?

Get OH to deal with the energy company/housing association.
The contractors for the Housing Association can put things off for a week or two, for both the energy survey and kitchen and the energy company just need a blasting - their balls up, they should sort it. No doubt the balls up is in their favour, financially, and they're demanding 'evidence' from you proving their incompetence.

It's easy to tell you to relax, but you must just monitor phone calls (not in to ANY 'unknown' or official looking callers - they can leave a message)
Pretend you're in another place for a week, with no mobile or internet (you don't have to pretend that one if you use the laptop). Eat whatever's left in the cupboards - tinned food has a use by date, and it will be good to empty the cupboards before the kitchen's done :-D

Most of all, take care of yourself. <3

Sharron, as I have said before. It all has to come out sometime, one way or another. You have done so much over the years for Fred. Now it has all stopped ,and you have other things have happened and caused you stress which you do not need.
Take care of yourself and rest as much as possible.

You are certainly not stupid.

You obviously like to be organised and in control, but you have had so much to cope with recently that your brain has said "Enough" and decided to have a rest.

So, go along with it, try and relax, let someone else do the organising if possible and if you feel like having a snooze then do so - it will do you good.

Be gentle with yourself, Sharron.

You've been jumping through hoops for so many people, lately.
Take some 'me' time and I hope you will soon feel alot better.

Haven't been too bad today.

Made a loaf and some raspberry vodka from the raspberries from the garden.

Coping.

Then OH mentioned that there was some left-over soup still in the fridge that I couls use in something.

For some reason that I can't begin to understand, it started me panicking. Stupid woman!

Take your time getting better Sharron, you need a break from all the stress you have had, so don't push yourself to be fit for work if you can get benefits while you are recovering. Hope all the hiccups and blips get sorted soon and you have your home as you want it, ready to hunker down for winter.
