It's OK to use the microwave as long as you don't let it get warm and you cook it immediately after defrosting. |

What nonsense! I defrost everything in the microwave. My microwave has different settings for defrosting chicken, beef or fish. One just has to enter the weight. |

We defrost chicken in the microwave several times a week, legs, wings, thighs, breasts etc . In fact our microwave has a chicken defrost setting - you just key in the weight and it works out the time. |

I have often defrosted chicken breasts in the microwave and, when on a diet, I cook them in there a well to have with salad |

Not really on the topic...but for some odd reason my mother (born Canada 1912-parents both from England) used the term "un-thaw" .(to mean defrost) |

I always use Dizzi´s method. Put it through several changes of cold water. |

Someone told me that you can keep a chicken in the freezer for a couple of years and it will be OK. The one I put in died after a couple of hours. Bob |

I usually buy chicken crowns, in bulk for the freezer, they are placed separately in Ziploc bags, with some suitable herbs and frozen on day of purchase. |
