Have been to the surgery and have another certificate for a month. The doctor is pretty understanding.

While we were there OH showed me a message he had received on his mobile and I think they are saying they will pay me the same benefit but I don't need supply another certificate.

Proper scrounger now maybe!

No no , you're not a 'proper' scrounger until you fit the stereotype ;-) smoking, drinking, hanging out inside the bookies every day and going home to a 50 inch plasma telly in the evening :-D

But seriously, I'm glad you have a helpful doctor. :-)

He used to come out to Fred and I think he understands buggered when he sees it..

I did get the impression that he approved of my unorthodox care methods.

and why wouldn't he approve - he should use them as a benchmark :-D

Don't you ever call yourself a scrounger :-|
As others have said - you looked after Fred for 7 years.
You could have put him in a home and carried on working. The cost of the home would have been more than your wages, (therefore funded by everyone else) and more importantly, Fred would have had a miserable existence.
Instead, you unselfishly took your dad home and gave him a LIFE, a reason for being alive, meanwhile changing your life to suit his needs.
Society owes you.

You also gave everyone here a good laugh, and seriously, you should write a book on your 'Fred tactics'. It could have a profound effect on how care homes are run, and benefit thousands of people!! :-D :-D
