Great news Shirley. He who shouts loudest springs to mind. Hope your hubby gets peace of mind now. I know my mom hated missing mass on Sundays.

Take care

Mary xx

Thank you folks for all your kind responses

I knew I wasnt being a drama queen but a concerned wife .

Although I am not a church goer myself my church background is still there and I am a believer just didnt get to church over the years due to little time being a full time commuter to London from Kent and a mum too that had to jiggle the spare time to fit things in

Thank you all <3

Well pleased to say the father came to see OH

What a charming man . He was so very nice and friendly and after the initial conversation which seemed to be me talking !! He asked OH what he would like and after some prompting he said a blessing would be nice

Father gave hubby communion and the the blessing for the sick and an anointment

Hubby surprised me in that he spoke all the the Hail Mary and the lords prayer .this is from a man who can't now put together more than 6 word conversation

Father too said ring me if you get depressed and just need a chat and I will come down
Feel much better now for OH and his spiritual needs :-)

That's really good Shirley, I'm glad the priest is nice and seems supportive to you as well as your OH :-)

So pleased for you both, that the father came to visit and your husband was able to respond so well.

My friend's mother, who had trouble remembering whether or not she had had breakfast or lunch that day was also able to take a meaningful interest in a church service. It seemed to unlock some inner part of special memory for her.

I do hope you and your husband continue to receive the full support of his church.

Delighted for you and your husband Shirley. It's often known that, when Holy Communion is taken to elderly church people who are unable to communicate very well, they are able to recite the service off by heart. They can usually sing hymns and recite psalms too. Their faith is embedded deep within them and it is a very moving thing to witness.

I share your feelings as my husband received Holy Communion at home on Saturday. Special times. xx
