My mother used to make toffee - when we got noisy she would say "here have some toffee" silence would then reign as our jaws ended up stuck together :-D |

Mother-in-law always keeps her toffees in the fridge. She says they last longer in the mouth, that way. |

Do you remember Palm toffee? It came in a block and you had to bash it with a hammer to break it into pieces. Dad bought some every weekend - no wonder I've got such rotten teeth. |
