Look forward to this heatwave!

AnninGlos Report 16 Oct 2014 15:31

Mark Wilson, meteorologist at the Met Office, said the expected weather was not unusual for this time of year, but winds could be higher than normal while warm air brought in by the storm could see unseasonably high temperatures through Friday and Saturday.

He said: "There is a lot of uncertainty about it, but it is not a severe storm and it is not looking to bring overly bad weather into the UK.

"Through the course of Friday to next week there will be fairly strong winds but at the end of this week, Friday and Saturday, we can expect high temperatures. In the south east it could reach the high teens or even 20 degrees."

So. high temperatures but not exactly sunny so put the bikinis away again!!

Where is my heatwave?

Until10 days ago, the weather here was really mild and unseasonably warm.
We woke up on Oct 7th to a very thick fog which cleared around lunchtime
Later that day we had thunder, lightening and a heavy fall of hail
That's exactly when, it turned bitterly cold.
We've had lots of bright sunshine, but it's pretty nippy out there now.

Bikinis eh :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

think mine probably is covered in mothballs as it's been a long time since it got an airing lol.

Lovely bright sunny week but still brrrrr. Long wool coat and scarf came out yesterday evening, peat and coal fire on.

Supposed to get wild towards tom and sat but just now a little breezy.

Garden here has been too wet to get out and tidy up this week and we were away all last week. :-(

It may be warm but have you seen the amount of rain forecast for Wales and the West Country? It's coming from a storm the size of the Atlantic Ocean. It doesn't matter to me how warm it is if it's hissing down with rain.
