It is vital that justice is administered in some form, evenly & fairly for all.

OneFootInTheGrave Report 27 Oct 2014 13:07

It has just been announced that the prosecution is to lodge an appeal against what they consider - to be the lenient sentence handed down to Oscar Pistorius.

it stinks - and had Oscar been a black S.A. he'd have got the maximum penalty

So, a male footballer can rape, get a few month's in prison and resume their grossly overpaid job.
An athlete can kill and get a few months in prison (I loved the comment ' Prison will kill him' - needing a pee killed Reeva).

Okay he can no longer run, but neither can Reeva,

So much for women in the Western world being equal.

Imagine if the tables had been turned.........

Bobtanian Report 21 Oct 2014 21:43

Seriously, the prosecutors are going to appeal?

haven't they been paid enough over this last couple of years?

if they couldn't do their job more efficiently

then they should step down........

JoyBoroAngel Report 21 Oct 2014 20:14

We all expect fair play but not everyone agrees what fair play is.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 21 Oct 2014 10:42

certainly isn't Sue, but her parents seem satisfied - the sports people have said that he will never ever be allowed to compete in athletics again when he is relesed

Hopefully his incarceration will help clean up the appalling conditions in S.A. prisons

supercrutch Report 21 Oct 2014 10:13

It will be interesting to see how their prison service cope with his disability - in the wrong hands, prosthetics could easily be considered as weapons.

From the brief interview with a SA legal expert, it would appear that their Supervisory Release can involve house arrest and community service.
