Thanks so much everyone. I had to wait a whole hour to go in because the dept was all behind but it was fine, scan took 25 mins. Now all I have to do is wait for the results in ten days time, I will be a nervous wreck by then.

Thanks all of you. I am trying not to think too much about the next ten days or so. We are supposed to be going to see o.h.s grandkids and family next weekend, E will be 4 on Halloween, so will spend the next day with them and go to her party on the Sunday before retuning home. If I have good news by then I will enjoy myself lots more.

Had some sad news today, an old friend of mine who has been living in America for several years lost her battle for life. She was a few years older than I am and had two sons with her there while her eldest daughter, still living here, was on the phone to her telling her she loved her and her other daughter was sending thoughts too. Jeannie had been ill and in and out of hospital for some time now and had to have a leg amputated not so long ago. She is free from suffering now and reunited with her parenta and her disabled daughter who died a few years ago. I will be there for her girls if they need me.

Hello Liz
Only just seen this so hope all is well when you get your results.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your friend.

I lost my dad last week and we buried him on Thursday. Sad times.

Keep busy and you will soon have your results and I hope you are soon well. <3

Sylvia, my sympathy on the sad loss of your Dad, it's a big thing losing a parent, whatever age you are. My parents died within 5 years of each other when I was 43 and 48, old as I was it felt strange to think I was then an orphan.

I am trying not to think of the possible result and am feeling brighter today altho sad for my friend and her family. She had such a difficult time when her American husband dumped her over there, with two lads to bring up. One of them was his and he made it difficult for her to come back to England.

Elaine, sorry I haven't rung you this week, hope you are doing ok and things getting sorted out. I loved my visit to you and don't worry, I'll be back !!!!!! xxxx

Sallie, Chris, Fly, and Sue, thanks for your good wishes.

Great news, I rang the hospital earlier today and the eye doctor, as he called himself, rang back to say it was good news, nothing found behind my eye or in my brain - he could have phrased it better lol . To say I was relieved was an understatement. I have to go back in December to find out what treatment I will need for what is presumably the low pressure glaucoma. This has been an ongoing saga from the time my optician wrote to the hospital after a routine eye test last November so a bit of a long time to be concerned. Obviously whatever is diagnosed can't be that serious or far gone, or they would hopefully have wanted to see me sooner.

Thanks to everyone for the support. It does make a difference to know people are thinking positive thoughts for you.

We had a reasonable weekend in Chelmsford but I had to drive all the way there as o.h. had been working in the morning, was tired so didn't hurry himself to get ready. By the time we left it was already dark and he can't see well when driving with headlights coming at him, so I did the whole 85 miles, just over 2 hrs.. Very tiring for me as my shoulders and neck get painful due to the arthritis if I drive far.

We walked into the city centre at around 9pm to get a bite to eat, we don't like the Italian restaurant which is part of the Best Western hotel. It was such a mild evening and the atmosphere for Halloween was lovely. So many young people in fancy dress, and enjoying themselves. They seemed merry, not drunk, and several spoke to us and were very pleasant.

As I drove into Chelmsford and close to the hotel, I noticed a Harvester with a board outside offering all you could eat breakfasts for £4.99. Thought we would give it a try the next day as we normally walk into the city centre for an all day breakfast, so we drove to the Harvester late morning and tried the breakfast offer. (Hotel charges a lot more) It was very good value, had to pay an extre £2.25 for unlimited drinks (tea, coffer etc) but the waitresses were really nice and the food good. We visited the family in the afternoon, little birthday girl was excited as was her smaller brother. She is so hyper tho, races up and down the room and now little lad is copying her so it was bedlam. She will barely sit down for a minute to look at a book or play with anything altho they both have far too much to choose from. Lovely to see them all again and catch up.

We visited again the following day after another Harvester breakfast but we only stayed for an hour or so as they were having a party at a play centre mid afternoon and we didn't want to go there, it would have been pointless as they would have been off playing with her friends and the parents would have been chatting with the parents of the guests who stayed.

By the time we left it was raining so we decided to come straight home while it was light and o.h. could drive. Made it in less than 2 hrs due to less traffic about and had a meal out at our favourite Brewers Fayre and then a lazy evening at home.

Back to the old routine now, o.h. on lates so only have to cook for myself till Friday - yippee!

Thanks again everyone for the lovely messages of support
