finding a grave.

I am trying to locate my gt grandfathers grave, i have a D.o.D, and my late aunt says that he has a headstone, i've searched the local churches where he could be buried but i have found nothing so far. |

More likely for that date of death he would be in a municipal cemetery or could have been cremated |

He may be buried at Wallingford Cy but find-a-graves listing is very far from complete. |

In the great scheme of things, not that many burials are on-line. You'd be better off contacting the Parks and Cemeteries dept. |

On the basis that there was a headstone, do note the wording under both Memorials and New Graves (DET's link) Whilst they are the current regulations, it is likely that they have existed for quite a while. Thus A) the headstone might have been removed, and B) the rights may have reverted to the local council. |

I have been trying to locate where my grandmother is buried but without success so far. The FHS groups I have contacted seem to require a payment in excess of £30 an hour for research and I am struggling to get replies from some Parks and Cemeteries depts so good luck in your search. |
