I hope you find something that helps.

I was unable to get out of bed 2 days in the last 7. Checked with the Osteoarthritis research updates and nothing useful.

So it's back on anti-inflammatory tabs plus morphine. Better today and I have new knee supports on the way (always ahead of the fashion, that's me). :-D :-D

Thank you for doing that 'trial' for us, LadyScozz :-D

I've finished the bottle of RoseHipVital.

It made NO difference at all! In fact, some of my arthritis is worse.

I'm going back on the Chinese herbs.

cod liver oil ~ blah

malt ~ blah

butterscotch ~ YUM

is there enough butterscotch to cover up the taste of the other two?

wondering if a codliveroil/malt/butterscotch smoothie would work :-S

Hope they do what they should, Scozz.

I just looked for cod liver oil and malt and saw this advertised, sounds nice:

My prize arrived this morning :-D

Recommended to take 3 capsules twice a day for 3 weeks, then 3 a day.

I have a three week supply.

They're the size of horse pills!

I've taken three........ with about a gallon of water.

Loads of blurb with them, from people who think the stuff is wonderful.

I'll keep you posted.

:-D

I love malt and cod liver oil.

When I was young we got them in two separate jars but the pharmacies near me sell jars of malt & cod liver oil combined. I still buy it occasionally. It's soooo lovely - gooey brown stuff with a delicious taste.

That word Robelene rang a bell.

I think I may be older than the way in which I behave!

I used to love rose hip syrup. May have a look round for it for daughter. She suffers with joint aches and pains more than I do. :(

Does anyone remember Robelene? I tried googling it and found out it is a girls' name :-D

Eventually found what I wanted by adding 'malt extract' to the search. Very similar to Virol I think.

lol Lilybird.... I'll ask our local pharmacist if he's a sailor.

There's a big sign out the front....... "HOLISTIC PHARMACY".

As well as prescriptions, they have a huge range of "health food", lots of vitamins etc, and what lots of people consider "weird hippy stuff", like smudge sticks.

:-D

Slip of the fingers.

Of course that would be a chemist shop (pharmacy) - we don't have to go sailing to buy the syrup!

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 19 Nov 2014 11:41

When I was a child we would collect rosehips and our local chemist would make rose hip syrup (we got paid by the pound for the hips).

I know of at least one chemist ship in our area that sells rosehip syrup. We used to have it on rice, semolina and tapioca puds. - even at school in the 'olden days'.

are you paying for it, or did you win it?

LadyScozz

LadyScozz Report 19 Nov 2014 04:09

I get an email every day from an Aussie "seniors" site, that's how I found out about Rose Hip Vital.

There was a link to the RHV website, with the chance to win a supply.

I've just received an email... a bottle is on its way to me! :-D

I was reluctant to try yet another "miracle cure", spending money on something that has little benefit. The bottle costs about $60, not sure how many capsules or how long it will last.

Stay tuned! :-D

I'm still seeing the naturopath, had an appointment this afternoon.

I asked him about Rose Hip Vital.......

basically, it contains Omega 3, which is supposed to help, as an anti-inflammatory

I asked..... so I might as well eat more fish?

He agreed.

I don't remember having cod liver oil when young ..........

....... but I do remember having calves foot jelly, which Mum bought in a jar

I was supposed to have 1 teaspoonful every morning ............... after breakfast, Mum used to send me to sit by the fire in the front room to take my spoonful from the jar.

I loved that stuff ...... and always tried to take 1 or 2 extra dips :-)
