Yes I am.
That poor man, what they put him through was appalling.

Joan / Amokavid.

I'm watching, but as Kay said, it's rather slow and plodding, but rather well done and true to what happened.

I remember the case well, and was horrified at how that man was vilified in the media.

It seemed obvious, to me anyway, that he was being stitched up, and that they'd got it wrong.

He could well have gone away for a long time.

Tec :-)

I found it fascinating - the police and media's views/misunderstanding of someone who was 'out of the ordinary', and didn't conform to their view of 'normal'.

The acting was amazing. This and 'Remember Me' (the thing with Michael Palin) were, I believe, just made for the British market, unlike Ripper Street', which was, I think, made with the American market in mind (same with Downton Abbey). I'd love to watch 'Ripper Street', but the way it's filmed, the jumbled 'historical' events - as well as the dire acting of Mathew Macfadyen make it unwatchable for me.

I remember the case very well part of the reason I have two nieces that live in that area and of course it was all over the news and papers. I do think the way the media hounded him was shocking I am looking forward to seeing it tomorrow

Having lived through it being sort of local the papers were constantly full of it, I couldn;'t bring myself to watch his torment again. Poor man.

It's also 'local' news for us so have seen a lot of the case and surrounding events. We can't just blame the media, many people were quick to make a judgement of him, I think there were even comments on here :-(. I haven't watched it - will probably see it on catch-up if it's available.

I found it very interesting especially as I hadn't seen the things that happened after he was cleared, the way he kind of came out of himself and joined in the lobbying re phone hacking and such. He looked quite different with his hair cut and coloured and I hope his life is going well for him now.

So sad that poor girl was murdered and the evil Dutchman? tried to implicate Christopher. Her poor boyfriend will have to live with the fact all his life, that had he not gone away that day Jo might still have been alive and doing well. Sad for her parents too.

I so agree with you Liz he had some really good friends though that could speak the truth to him and I found that very touching, I hope he's happy and can move on from that dreadful time

'Archive On 4 - A Life Less Ordinary' is a one hour BBC radio edition covering the Christopher Jefferies/Joanna Yates story.

Broadcast on 11th January this year - just in case anyone would like to re-listen to it on the Net.

it was a lesson in not judging people, nor jumping to conclusions just because somebody 'looks' guilty.

I felt devastated for this gentleman, how shocking that an innocent person should have been put through so much.

Hoping he has managed to move on with this life and is happy and well.
