DH has been wrapping.

There are three parcels next to my stocking.

My stocking has a shop-bought stocking in it (with sweets etc) that I bought! One of them in DH's stocking too.

Next to my wrapped surprises is the perfume ....... in the box....... NOT WRAPPED!

:-|

If he says ONE MORE TIME that Christmas doesn't mean much to him any more, I'll refuse to cook the turkey.

Just as a tip that I read somewhere, tables can be quite low for wrapping sometimes, using the ironing board tends to add a couple of inches and is less of a strain on my back.

I love wrapping pressies for my kiddies, I wrap them all on Christmas eve while my hubby watches the telly :-(
I wrap everything even the little bits like Christmas themed pencils and rubbers lol
It takes ages but worth it christmas morning to see their faces..

I've always loved wrapping presents - used to do them all when I lived at home, Mum used to hate doing it. I even wrap 'dummy' presents to leave under the tree just to make it look nicer :-D

I enjoy the thought of it and don't really mind doing it except I find as I get older it does make my back ache. I always used to sit on the floor and do it but that now makes my legs ache so I do it at the table and (see above) it makes my back ache. So the spirit is willing but the body is not helping. :-D But mine are all wrapped.

DH came home with three rolls of Christmas wrapping paper.

I don't know why.

I bought the perfume I wanted, it's still sitting there, not wrapped. I think he bought me a calendar the other day (I saw him in the newsagent, but pretended not to see him).

Three rolls? Where has he hidden all the pressies?

Maybe the paper was on special and he's putting in in the storage cupboard? :-(

HIS pressies are all wrapped. Pressies, plural. :-)

Yes Florence, my whole day was spent hanging around waiting for one parcel to be sealed up and posted.

Well now that someone mentioned it let me tell you about my day!

Daughter No3 is a perfectionist. ( an art student)
She was sending a parcel today, a box (slightly smaller than a shoebox) which was filled with wrapped prezzies.

She spent last ALL of last night wrapping each little gift in brown paper and tied them with red and white string, making sure that each one was completed with a perfect, hand tied bow
All that was left to be done today was place them in the box, seal it, address and take to the Post Office.

At 10am ths morning, she decided to make her own gift tags.
Each one was different, hand done in beautiful coloured fonts and then........,she decided to write a letter that she wanted included

It was finally parcelled up and ready to go at 2.45pm.
At 3pm we headed into town.
We waited in the lengthy queue at the PO before being served.

The man at the counter asked for a description of the contents being sent , and then told her that he could not accept the parcel, because it contained Christmas Crackers!

He gave her a leaflet which outlined this, and SHE opened the PO website on her phone and handed it to him.
The website says they can be posted, so long as they remain unopened and in their original packaging

The man then had to make a 15 minute phone call to HQ, but came back and said he COULD accept the box after all.

The box was finally in the post and on it's way to Switerland at 4.20pm!

I REALLY HATE THE WRAPPING. I started buying the presents back in August and I was going to wrap them has I bought them but that did not happen, so I have been wrapping two or three every evening, had a rest tonight cos I had to go my hospital in London but I have about two to wrap and one birthday so nearly there

Well, i enjoy it! Today at school i supervised and showed a small group of girls how to wrap 60 gifts for santa and the party tomorrow and then prizes for the games. Most had never wrapped a gift and most were 10-12 yrs old...But they soon got the hang of it.

As long as i have all the things i need before i start, plenty of tags, sellotape etc and a glass of something fizzy and some nibblies, then i will happily sit and wrap away.

last nite I finally finished all the presents for school and collegues and it was after 1am before i got to bed!

my reward for 2 late nights, sat in front of Tv all eve and chilled. Great feeling when it all gets done.

We finish on friday and then the fun begins.

i also made gift bags with the children this week using wallpaper samples. They looked great and only took 10 mins to make and cost pennies. has anyone else done this?

My family have only sent money or vouchers this year to cut down on postage. So under the tree there are no gifts at present just cards....looks so bare compared to previous years. But of course mummy will rectify that with a few extras!

happy wrapping
