Sorry if this has been asked before / in other forums etc. I have sent a number of messages to members, most of which I get responses from, but in some cases I receive nothing. Indeed I am able to see that the message indicator is a closed envelope i.e member has not opened my message. Is it possible to establish when a member last logged in? Furthermore, if a member does not log in over an extended period (eg he/she may have died), then what happens to their tree data? Does it remain locked out from other users on the website forever? |

Richard, i have access to the trees of 2 people i know for a fact died several years ago, if the family don't have access to the account i suppose they can't delete the trees. |

There is - or was - a way of seeing when someone last logged in, but as a lot of us never log out it's not a reliable way of finding out whether or not that person is an active member. Same is true of Ancestry |

It's a sad day when the data is locked away and taking up server space indefinitely. May be the system could be modified to partially open up the data , say, where it is in excess of 100 years since birth date of individuals, and the owner has not been active for an extended period. Just a thought! |
