:-(

It's really itchy, and driving me mad :-(

It goes from my neck, down my back almost to my behind......... but it's only on my right side :-S

I have to see the doc tomorrow (for regular blood tests), hopefully he can give me something to take the itch away (I've tried all the lotions I have).

itch itch itch........ arrrrrrrrgh :-(

It's not shingles is it?

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 11 Jan 2015 09:53

My thought was shingles too. If it is it's very important to start medication immediately to reduce the effects.

Funny that you mention shingles.

I've had a strange pain in my back, on the right side, for over a week. I saw the naturopath on Thursday, and he asked about shingles. :-(

My Mother had shingles many years ago, and said it was extremely painful. This backache hurts, but I've had worse.

There's something going on, because I still have marks on my back from the cupping I had done on Thursday, the marks are usually gone the next day.

I might wear gloves to bed :-D because I don't want to scratch in my sleep!

DH is really cheering me up, by calling me Scabby :-|

LadyS.
See a doctor as soon as you can. If it is shingles and it is caught early enough you can be given antiviral drugs and cream. Doesn't completely cure it but helps and stops it getting any worse.

I had shingles in August. I became aware of the pain and rash on the Thursday and I would normally have said I'll see what it is like after the weekend, but I was going to a big "do" at the weekend so I saw the doc on the Friday. He said he would give me the drugs because he had seen me within 72 hours. If it is left much longer than that they are not so effective.

Good luck. I hope you feel better soon.

I think if that naturopath suspected shingles on Thursday he really should have gone a step further to see if it was indeed shingles so that you could get started on medication for it. It is so important to start the medication at the first sign of the disease.

When I had shingles at the back of my neck, at first it felt as if I had a stiff neck. The rash was bumpy, then like raised tiny blisters. It felt more like a prickling or irritation as if something was walking over your skin.I had anti virals too, but the doctor said that was to help stop it becoming worse.

I got shingles years ago
but went the doctors straight away

and the tablets and cream stopped it spreading
and becoming a bigger problem :-D

Not shingles.

It's a horrible heat rash! Doc said it was nasty, and has put me on antibiotics. Also have two huge tubes of ointment.

It's been very humid recently, I've been wilting. Saturday was really horrible, 33C and raining.

Maybe I should use the A/C more :-D

I am glad it isn't shingles, Scozz and hope the treatment ease things. I get real problems with mozzie bites, especially when abroad, but was recommended a very good cream which helps ease itchiness, it's called Fenistil.

no insects have bitten me, it's just the hot & humid conditions. It's cooled down a lot since the weekend, currently it's 25C & raining. I feel like someone has soaked a heavy wool blanket in hot water and dumped it on me. :-(

I love living here, but I don't like January :-|

Scozz, last month OH had rashes in all the 'sweaty' places on his body including his neck, he does perspire a lot and where his computer is (his 'office') gets very warm even this time of year, because it is a small room. He asked a pharmacist in Lloyds and he gave him an anti fungal cream. I haven't heard any complaints since so I assume it has done the trick. His was a nasty rash too. glad it wasn't shingles though. :-)

I find using unscented baby talc works wonders for those "sweaty" places when it gets very hot

and, yes, LS ......................

you should be using the air conditioner :-)

LadyScozz

LadyScozz Report 12 Jan 2015 21:39

The puzzling bit is...... the rash is only on my right side :-S

from my neck to my backside.

Maybe my left side doesn't sweat........ oops, ladies glow! My left side doesn't glow. :-D

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 12 Jan 2015 21:47

Maybe you should be using Right Guard deodorant?

LadyScozz

LadyScozz Report 12 Jan 2015 22:06

after I last posted I went to the pathologist for a blood test.

Or so I thought.......

Nope, got to go back tomorrow, not sure what they're doing, have to get "something" first, then wait for 10 minutes, then they will take the blood.

Who remembers the BIG bottle last year (not blood) ? I've got another one!! AND..... because it's so HOT here, I have to keep it in the fridge, for 24 hours...... ewwww!

hint......... big bottle, potty & funnel :-(

Sylvia

Sylvia Report 12 Jan 2015 22:19

hope all goes well tomorrow LadyScozz. That big bottle, and funnel dont sound good. :-( <3
