I've just remembered !
This time last year we had the kitchen and utility room refitted.
When we removed the old foor covering, there was a thick layer of mucky looking silicone sealant running the length and depth of the door bar
There didn't seem any reason for it to be there and I cut it all away with a stanley knife.

The wind, driving rain and snow have caused huge puddles on the floor. .. I think I now KNOW why is was there in the first place!
