I just checked.

My name and the info is still there! grrrrrrr

The really annoying part is, the person who posted the info remains anonymous as "Y" but had the cheek to put my name!

Maybe I should email familysearch again....... ask what progress has been made.

Sylvia,
I knew they 'baptised' dead people of whatever religion - but to 'baptise' living people is going too far :-|
Maybe by referring to living people as dead, they think they can get away with it.
I will be contacting them as soon as I've dealt with FMP.

On the LDS site, it actually says:
"England and Wales, Birth Registration Index, 1837-2008," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/2FW7-F6L : accessed 24 January 2015), Name, 1897; from "England & Wales Births, 1837-2006," index, findmypast (http://www.findmypast.com : 2012); citing Birth Registration, Southampton, Hampshire, England, citing General Register Office, Southport, England.

maggie

probably the person who submitted the information to FMP and then to LDS got the names mixed up ........................

I think FMP is the same as here ................. trees are the work of members not of the site.

Unfortunately .................... members of the Mormon Church want to get all the members of their family, living and dead, accepted into the church so that they will be reunited in "heaven"

you just have to hope that you have not been "baptised" or whatever it is that they do :-)

I knew LDS scoured church records - but these have arrived via FMP.

Exceptionally galling as neither me, my children nor grandchildren have been Christened / Baptised - that's because we're not Christians!!

I also asked FMP if they had the right to give/sell these details on to LDS (though I know they're available in record offices) without the agreement of the individuals concerned.

LDS appear to believe we're all dead. :-|

Just found this:

http://www.findmypast.co.uk/content/privacy-policy

I'm afraid they may have made a major boo boo.
I look forward to Monday :-|

Have also noticed FMP has my (dead) aunt's name confused with my (also dead) gran's name - and lo!! LDS has the same error. :-| :-|

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 23 Jan 2015 23:57

My (deceased) parents are on it, but thankfully the submitter has left off known living relations. I know exactly who it is - the person is/was also a member of GR.

The person has a massive tree on here. We are related within a couple of generations and the tree owner was very helpful with our mutual line. Although I can't really complain, it would have been preferable not to quote me as a source!

Tabitha

the log-in has been there for several years ......................

I have never logged in, but I still search on there regularly!!! :-D

I'm not about to give out log-in details to any more sites than I have to.

maggiewinchester Report 23 Jan 2015 17:13

Have contacted FMP and asked whose permission they have to give/sell personal information to LDS, albeit available in records offices, online is soo much easier for pervs and the undesirable to get.

Also pointed out that we appear on LDS as 'deceased ancestors', which is very upsetting.
I've been asked for names - have sent them. Also pointed out that the names are unusual, and this makes my 12 year old grand daughter more vulnerable.

He hasn't got the boys yet, because they were born after 2006.
He's been trawling through BMD's in the records office., then blithely putting them online!
Unfortunately, he's also in touch with my ex's brother in Australia, but I don't think he's got the info from him - his son's birth isn't listed.

maggiewinchester Report 23 Jan 2015 13:13

Ha!! I think I know the pr&t who's divulging my family's personal details.
He's got a 'thing' about my ex's family - he's vaguely related - very vaguely related to my ex.
He hasn't included my daughters marriages - as it's a change in name.
HIs fixation is on the name.
Grand daughter has a different surname to her brothers - it's double-barrelled - father's name then mother's maiden name - which is the same as my ex's.
He's one of 2 . Now to trawl through my e-mails.....

maggiewinchester Report 23 Jan 2015 13:05

Just noticed, the personal details of living relatives (on LDS as 'Deceased Ancestors') came from Find My Past.
I haven't got a tree on FMP. Haven't been on for years - not even when I had my £1 subscription in December.
I really want to know what scum puts full details of 12 year olds on the internet :-| :-|
I've contacted FMP and informed them of this 'slip'.
