It was too low for me in recent years but I used to use it a lot in the past, all the family did as it was comfy to sit on with your legs stretched out :-)

Bargan Hunt were in Lincolnshire.

Chair was sold through HANSON Auction house in Derbyshire


By the way if you want to buy it back,,,you could always ring Hanson Auction House as they will have the address of the buyer...

Just re watched it on BBC I Player.
It must have been one of the first chairs produced by Ercol.
they opened in 1920.

When you google it there is one with a similar leather back.
On ebay put in vintage ercol brown leather chair.

just watched it - watch Bargain Hunt every day - it was a lovely chair and £40 was cheap for such a chair

I still have my Ercol dining table and 6 chairs (2 carvers). Had them since I was 19. They were advertised as unwanted for £50. The couple had the set in their holiday cottage so virtually unused. My brother drove me to Bishops Stortford and we nabbed them PDQ.

We didn't even barter lolol

Cheer up our Rose it could have been worse x

My ex from way back had a thing about Ercol furniture

I have things I have got rid of cheaply or given away and regret to this day. I think that's why I hoard now.
