Possibly they want it because their ridiculously old software won't run on the most up to date version of Ye Olde XPe

Win 8x ? That's not the half of it

The wobbly Spectrum is back in fashion emulated on everything from Smartphones to the Strawberry. Apparently the nation's future will be assured by its kids learning the arcane arts pf programming Manic Miner and the like in an emulated environment.

I've got a copy of Rodney Zak's "Programming Z80 Assembler" somewhere around ...

Win98 has no native tcp/ip stack or support for USB. Thus it has to be relatively secure.
