so I think the Qld one has followed her plan, and left on holiday!

LS

no, I haven't heard from them .....................

I haven't yet checked today on FB, but there was nothing from them on there up to about 5 am UK time Monday morning .................... whatever time that would be in Qld

and it's still raining :-(

Sylvia ~ have you heard from your rellies in Qld? I hope they're OK.

SylviaInCanada

ouch Brenda, torn muscles can be painful. I'm guessing she has to see a physio?

been raining on and off most of today.

I tried to do some washing...... that was a joke.

The cushion covers are soaking in napisan & clove oil, hopefully that will remove the mould stains. Too bad if it doesn't, I'm not buying new cushions for outside!

Love your description of blue sky!!!

G daughter...no bones broken, but a tear in the muscle and a lot of bruising around...off school all week....X-Ray and ultrasound....lapping up the attention now!!

LadyScozz

LadyScozz Report 22 Feb 2015 19:54

Brenda ~ I hope your grand-daughter feels better today. I also hope there's nothing broken, she probably bruised & battered.

It's still raining....... and some weird looking big black clouds on the horizon.

We saw a teeny bit of blue sky yesterday, enough to make a pair of pj's for a cat.

I hope the weather stays fine for you.

BrendafromWales Report 22 Feb 2015 10:04

Hope youre not getting more rain.
All we had this weekend ...a few spots..not even an umbrella!
It wasnt too hot, which suited me,...came back via Central coast and after some rain around Newcastle the sun was out and a beautiful day.
Apart from a problem with Granddaughter falling off a toboggan, hurting her leg and spending 2 hrs in the medical centre,we had a good weekend.
She hasnt broken anything they dont think, but she cant walk too well.Maybe no school tomorrow!

The cushions? The deck/verandah isn't small, we have two 2-seater sofas & 2 chairs, all with cushions to sit on & back & side cushions..... and maybe 10 other cushions for comfort & decoration...... then there's a table & 6 chairs, all with cushions...... and 2 small tables near the sofas. Nowhere inside to keep that many cushions :-( When the rain eventually stops I'll take the covers off & wash them. They can't be put in the dryer.

We haven't heard any more branches fall off the fig.....but I expect some to fall when the tree dries out a bit.

The maps on the weather bureau site show NO rain or clouds here. Maybe I should send them a photo of what I can see! The sky & the ocean are the same grey, hard to see where the horizon is. :-( And..... it's still raining.

Forecast for today... strong winds, thunder & lightning.... and more rain :-(

BrendafromWales

BrendafromWales Report 21 Feb 2015 11:21

Sorry about your soggy cushions....

Could you not have taken them inside???....or are they attached?

Still if you're already soggy...it won't be a problem!

Only joking!!......do hope you soon dry out,and thank goodness no structural damage! :-S

Re the Queensland police. Has someone redrawn the boundaries and not told you? :-S
It's probably some interagency co-operation thingy. :-)

As you haven't mentioned the fig tree, it sounds as if it's still in one piece.

Keep safe.

ty Allan <3

Everything is soggy & smelly :-( especially us ;-)

We have outside furniture with cushions, and they're all damp..... I hope we can get them dry soon, before they go mouldy. They were under cover, but the rain blew in, and the air is so moist.

More birds this afternoon taking cover...... butcher birds again, warbling at us. Poor little things, all wet & flustered.

Allan Report 21 Feb 2015 09:00

Scozz, I'm glad that you are ok, even if somewhat waterlogged :-D :-D :-D

LadyScozz

LadyScozz Report 21 Feb 2015 07:08

Glad you had a nice dry day Brenda, and that you're safe.

It's still raining here, but not as bad as we expected; more rain due tomorrow and for another few days.

I've forgotten what blue sky looks like....... our solar lights stopped working days ago :-(

Something ridiculous...... from Wednesday last week, we've had a load of Queensland police cars on our roads (in NSW). They're not just on the highway, but on local roads too, pulling drivers over and testing them for alcohol & drugs. Fair enough.... but shouldn't they be in Qld where they're really needed? :-S

LS.
We have had a nice day here.a few spots of rain for 5 mins.Walked all round nelson's bay.and the Koala reserve Tilgerry Habitat and saw a couple of wild koalas.then to the toboggan park for granddaughter.
Still Ok so can't complain !
We may get it tomorrow, but we are going back in the afternoon.
Hope it's also clearing up for you.

Brenda ~ the storm is heading your way!

We had rain rain rain last night. It stopped about 4am........ now we're waiting for the tailend of Marcia...... more rain and very strong winds. The ocean is very rough.... a shark was washed ashore!

Everything is damp & smells musty, it's going to be worse. I'm not putting anything back in its proper place until I see blue sky again.

I'm not really complaining, it's a fact of life when you live here. We get the tailend of storms that batter north of us. And they have definitely been battered.

Frightening...... houses torn apart, trees uprooted.

This morning........ DH went to the tip! silly man.

The rain has just started.......... getting heavier by the second.... now it's torrential!!

Obviously, the golf course is closed!

Nobody seriously injured ,thank goodness...but now looting going on in damaged buildings...how they can do that Is unbelievable..a lot of damaged buildings, especially Yeppoon.

Weather not as bad as expected here in port Stephens so off out to Teagardens on a boat soon. :-)

I have relatives in Palmwood,Queensland and thankfully they seem to be ok, so far. They live at the top of a hill so wont get flooded, fingers crossed. So sorry for all those affected by this storm. :-(

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 20 Feb 2015 06:13

LadyScozz

LadyScozz Report 20 Feb 2015 05:34

Yeppoon got battered, but the "authorities" say it was "grazed"

http://www.9news.com.au/National/2015/02/19/12/40/Tropical-Cyclone-Marcia-upgraded-to-category-two-as-Queensland-braces-for-wild-weather

Rockhampton is bracing itself.

Meanwhile, we have cabin fever, so we're going out! Being picked up in 30 mins by a courtesy bus....... going to the golf club. It will be either packed (with other cabin fever people) or deserted. The local radio station has been playing songs with "rain" in the lyrics all afternoon; was funny at first but it's getting depressing. :-(

In Adelaide, where rellies live, they have no rain and expecting 40C tomorrow :-(

Our forecast? Tomorrow 100% chance of rain, Sunday 80%. No kidding.

and...... I'm wearing shoes & socks for the first time in months, can't stand wet feet in sandals.
