That's sad Sue, and how stupid of the warden to disregard the signs that you pointed out. I do hope your friend/neighbour will be found somewhere safe and pleasant to live with her ongoing problem, did she have relatives who would help her? Can you not visit her in hospital and see how the land lies? Would be a shame to lose contact completely unless she has suddenly become really unwell in other ways too

The old lady that lived next door to me has been diagnosed with Dementia but that was after I had a word with the warden of the bungalows/flats.

She must have been suffering with it a few months before I came to live here.

How I knew she had dementia was I asked her every other day what she was having for her dinner and it was always the same ""Sausage and Lamb Chops""".
So I started making my meal and doing a little bit extra and plate it up for her.

Then one day last June she came round screaming at me and accused me of talking about her with the neighbours up the street """saying that she had heard me telling them she needed to clean her house""

I was in the bathroom when she knocked on the door and I told her I had just finished cleaning my teeth after lunch.

When I spoke to the warden she said"""She is just confused"" NO NO.

I told the warden if she didn't report my fears then I would report it myself to the manager and get something done for the lady.

On the Saturday I went to my friends for a week for a break and when I came back the old lady wasn't in the flat and someone told me she had been taken to hospital.

I haven't seen her since.

Which is a shame because we were good friends.

One of ours has short term memory loss - they haven't formerly been diagnosed and would probably be insulted if we suggested they signed up.

If there is a facebook page, it might be worth linking to it.

Yes on our local tv tonight we had the head nurse researcher and he was explaing that carers/family can sign up for help and support.

Most families/carers need help or support with Dementia/Alzheimers sufferers.
