Does anyone have experience of either hypnotherapy or blue light filters as an aid to insomnia. And PLEASE! do not add advice about hot drinks, hot baths, magnesium etc. They have all been tried. Even Chinese herbal and acupuncture. Bob |

sounds as if a trip to the doctor is required for medication, instead of trying to continue with self help |

This is not my problem, it is my daughter's. She has been to the sleep clinic, 24 hours wired up to electrodes etc. She goes 3/4/5 days at a time without sleep, her longest being nine days. Doctors have tried all sorts of pills, even dopamine, which had such horrendous side effects that she had to stop taking them. This has been going on for about 20 years. Anything that does work, only does so for a night or two, then it is back to more sleepless nights. Bob |

I recently saw a programme where the problem was solved by the person wrapping themselves up warmly in bed. Ie wear your dressing gown to bed and it worked! |

I had hypnotherapy, while going through the divorce from hell, for stress and insomnia. |

I do know that if I stay on the pc until I go to bed, I take a long time to get to sleep. |

I read before I sleep and it´s the wind down time I need. Occasionally I have fallen asleep before I have meant to. This doesn´t always guarantee a full nights sleep mind. |

I used to read before going to sleep, but I no longer find it comfortable to read in bed ............... and, anyway, I usually find myself so engrossed in the book that I become wide awake :-D |

It sounds more as if she has a medical problem rather than physcological so a hypnotist may not be the answer as they play on the mind set . |
