Given the phrase,
" You are, what you eat"

do you think these falcons are really just big pigeons?

McAlp

McAlp Report 21 May 2015 19:47

Panic over they were just having a walkabout :-D

PricklyHolly Report 21 May 2015 20:00

Have you noticed that all 4 chicks have been ringed?

When I looked in early yesterday morning I didn't notice any rings........but by late morning I noticed that they had.

Yes Prickolls. I noticed the chicks are wearing a bit of bling today.

I also saw one had hopped outside the nest box and the others were looking quite shocked by this :-D

They're growing fast and getting quite handsome now. I'm pleased all 4 have made it this far and hope they all fledge.

Watching all the chicks out of the nest and on the ledge is making me feel quite sick.

They are so bleddy clumsy. :-0 :-0 :-0

There are some cameras on motorways high up on poles that at times look like a falcon, in silhouette.........

Elisabeth Report 25 May 2015 11:53

Twice this morning someone has been remotely controlling camera 1.. Earlier I thought a bird had landed on the camera as it was moving around, but it changed direction and looked at the other end of the ledge. Just a moment ago it went to a close-up of the chicks for a few minutes. There is little of the downy feathers left now. Perhaps they will be flying soon?

Bobtanian

Bobtanian Report 25 May 2015 19:50

not quite yet, methinks a few more pigeon supremes are on the menu...........

Hilary Report 28 May 2015 16:07

Must nearly be time for them to fly, takes about 6 weeks according to the Falcon facts. Camera zoomed around a little while ago. Only 1 to be seen & it went along the ledge and around the corner. What lovely time wasters :-)

Elisabeth Report 7 Jun 2015 08:31

I spotted one falcon yesterday evening and there is one on the ledge at the moment. Don't know if it is an adult or one of the chicks.

Edit: Three of them on the ledge at 2 pm.
