GR mucked up my membership as well

Got no confidence at all in the GR Team whether that is Support or Technical. Same old problem of them not answering direct questions

Why do they bother having a Community Manager when she is seldom on site.

Some of the Team on Facebook treat the members like idiots.

Maybe GR personnel are too busy keeping an eye on G007's threads, including his loyal detractors. :-S

I wish. They left some up far too long, especially where false accusations were being thrown about.

Not sure why his name came up, he's gone forever, I understand, although I was at work when he made his final flounce.

If they were doing that, Dermot, they would have removed them earlier.

He was on here making a fuss, as Gwynne says, flouncing around, and carping on about freedom of speech (ironic as he put forward an idea where you could block people from 'your' thread).
I expect he's gone voluntarily.

I don't think GH intended to troll or even to wind people up. His highly idiosyncratic way of looking at life meant he did not have to try at all.

DC Thomson should let this site go and book the tax loss as they are clearly no longer interested in it. The running costs ( excluding records ) are very low. There is ( or was ) more than enough tech expertise among members to keep the ship afloat once records have been hived off.

GR sent out an email ....advertising a 1 month for £1 on FMP :-S

Now if it were to encourage me to use the records via GR, than a similar offer would have made sense. Why suggest I use a 'competitor' if they weren't trying to move people over?

It's strange. If I do a Quicksearch for G007, I get an error message. I do get results for GHeather though.

His account as G007 has gone his other account is still there.

Yes but the search should show any posts that mention that alphanumeric string not give an error.

I don't think the quicksearch works with alphanumeric mix? and advanced search just doesn't work at all these days lol

Re the quicksearch, I searched "1st" and got results, "G006" and got a no result answer, but "G007" gives an error.

There's one result using G008 lol...that's when G007 used the board name "sense" lol,

I use google for adv search anyway, quicker!
