In North London where I originate they are played just like the spoons. They are flat like ribs with rounded ends and polished so they are smooth. I have 2 sets in my possession one of which belonged to my late Dad and one belonging to a late uncle. It used to be there Christmas party piece playing them. Ah such Happy memories. <3
