We never saw any cats in the garden until we had our cat, more and more are visiting... the one who popped in after a while ( Biggy bagpuss) yep ok...could cope with that, he looked a bit sad and neglected, but then it was BB AND 'Socks', now it is BB, Socks, the tabby without collar, the ginger and white who sits by the gate, and now a white and black one is sitting in the front room miaowing at me. ...

It's getting weird, every time I open the door a new one appears :-0 Do I look like a mad cat woman ;-)

Amanda2003 Report 22 Apr 2015 21:50

Well the cats obviously think so Rose :-D

Maybe they have all started arriving because someone in the area has recently put up a blockade of some sort ( to stop them going into their garden ) and it's diverted they in your direction ?
The reason I say this is because my neighbours cats have all been coming into my garden as the person who backs onto said neighbour has blocked the cats from getting into his garden . I , in turn , have had to put up barriers as I was getting overwhelmed with cat poo :-| :-0 :-(

Rambling Report 22 Apr 2015 22:07

I think one or two of them may be coming because their owners have now got dogs and the dogs are taking the cat's food. :-(

My neighbours moved in last year. They had 2 cats and a GSD. I don't mind others' cats (though my cats do), but the neighbour has removed any greenery, and covered any soil in his garden ( and got another dog), His garden is now a concoction of gravel and breezeblocks, with little squares left for the 'specimen' flowers.
My garden is a grassy bit with overgrown shrubs, sloworms, hedgehogs, and a barked over area. The barked area is where my cats cr*p. I know it's there, I am aware, they were trained to go there. They dig holes there and do it. Grandchildren have to wear wellies if they venture in to that area of the garden.
Neighbour's cats, in the desperate pursuit of somewhere to do their business, decided the grassy area of my garden - no holes dug- was suitable. :-| I don't think so. Standing in their detritus whilst hanging out my washing? No way.
Cute though they are, I will bang on windows, open the door and hiss - anything to deter them. I found myself hissing at a poor (human) stranger passing my front gate tonight :-(
They've got cats - do they not realise they need somewhere to relieve themselves? :-| :-| :-| :-|

neighbour over the road has, at any one time about 6 cats (she fosters I think for cats' protection), her next door neighbour has three cats. We have a gravel patch in the front of our house, Guess where they like to leave their little 'messages'? At the moment it is covered in netting and holly leaves and sprayed with Stay off. We only have to open the front door and they are gone! :-D

Wish next doors cats would use their gravel/pebles - but it probably smells of doggy-do :-| :-| :-|

Mayfield that looks like fun :-)

well white and black puss was put out last night and was on the doorstep ( as were the two other regulars, mine is always in over night) when I opened the door, funny little thing he has the shortest legs and a short body to go with....and is now sitting on the sofa looking like he lives here :-|

I wonder if he is lost? he's obviously been used to being indoors.

maggiewinchester Report 23 Apr 2015 12:10

Looks like you may have at least one more cat, he's obviously decided you'd be an 'okay' slave :-D

We haven't got a cat now but we still have Harold the 50 plus year old tortoise

He likes a dollop of cat food with his salad and I swear the local cats are sitting outside the garden with their knives and forks ready waiting for the food to go,out

I don't feed him at the same time every day it depends on the weather but poor old Harold often gets the cat food licked clean off the salad before he has time to take a bite at it even though I have put the plate under his nose

Bee things too have a crap on the gravel part of the garden as they leave

Even had one randy unneutered Tom peed up the back door just to let me know he had been in the garden ,boy did that pong :-S
