That's interesting!

I know the Aberdonians do, cos I watched a programme about it which told me it should be pronounced Aiberdeen and not Aaberdeen.

It's just a dialect really, Jem :-D :-D - but can be pretty hard to understand a broad Geordie :-D ;-)
