The cost of the monarchy last year to each person in the country worked out at 56 pence or just over 1 penny a day - nothing to loose any sleep over.

I do think the press should back off though, especially when it concerns the royals personal life.

I think the baby looks like William and George, and yes I thought she looked a little like the Queen. She looks like a redhead.

As for the money and hangers on, get rid of the latter but think of the alternative to the Royal Family..

:-) :-) :-) :-)

But think also of all the wealth that is generated in tourism by us having the Royal Family.

If I were to take a guess on the new baby's name, how about Alice Caroline Frances Elizabeth?

There's a nod to the grandmother in there.

Named after Granddad, Gt Grannie and Grandma. Nice.

I hoped for Charlotte Elizabeth. I guessed Diana would probably be there as well.

Elizabeth is the middle name of a lot of ladies of Carole Middleton's generation

Charlotte (Pippa's Middle name) Elizabeth (Catherine and Carol's middle name and the Queen's name) and Diana.

Nice to see the name Diana when I thought they would use Frances, Diana's second name.

A great move by the couple and a wonderful accolade to all of the baby's nearest female relatives.

My wife is Frankie, Dermot. I sometimes sign cards to nephews/nieces "from Bob your uncle and Fanny your aunt".
