off ugly feet? Just draws attention. Of latter years photos of celebs etc shown in the media eye show their ugly feet. When I was first in hospital for a long haul - wondered why I kept being told on bed baths that I had lovely/nice feet. I queried this once - 'feet are feet' and was told, I did not have any corns/bunions/squashed toes etc., and that this was unusual.

I have always walked in my bare feet indoors. Have worn Scholl sandals since 1960, then found Birkenstock 1990. When pointed shoes were fashionable, I used to buy a size larger and stuff the toes with cottonwool (no crushed toes).

I expect I am not the only female in my age range with similar 'lovely' feet.

Only thing that is lovely about me now :-D :-D

I've spent my life barefoot too, and in flat comfy (but not ugly) shoes except for less than five years in my youth ... but I got my grandmother's bunions anyway

Still long and elegant otherwise, though! and when I had to do physiotherapy after a snapped ankle three years ago, the physio was very impressed with my Achilles tendons, more flexible at my age than most people's anytime. Dancer's feet!

I'd say that in general feet are kinda ugly anyhow, no matter what feet or whose :-)

I usually cover my feet. Wear sandals with toes etc, it's just my preference. I wear crocs as slippers.
I haven't worn heels since 1976, when a sudden snowstorm left me stranded in Lerwick in a pair of (not particularly high) platform wedges, with flared jeans. After a 14 mile walk home in 3ft of snow, not only have I never worn heels, I've never worn flared trousers either (the snow rides up the legs in flares).
For some reason, my daughter thought it would be a good idea to show my grand daughter my feet - as a lesson in 'what damage heels can do to your feet'.
Daughter was shocked. My feet are in a better condition than hers!!!!
So it became a lesson in how flat shoes/boots are good for your feet :-D

my feet are OK - my Dad always insisted I had good shoes when I was a child - we were quite poor but good shoes were essential and I am thankful for his good judgement - I'm light on my feet and my shoes last years - must admit I do have about a hundred pairs of shoes - a weakness of mine - some of my shoes are twenty years old and still in good nick - like my feet

Bob is a brave fellow to interlope on this female discussion. I'm out of here & may my feet go with me!

There are countless web sites which delight in showing pics of 'celebs' with ugly feet and boy some are really gross! They still insist of wearing open toes and strappy styles, I have no idea why :-(

I used to wear the most enormous platforms and when I got home from work had to change into a pair of shoes with lower heels, then manage to get calf muscles stretched enough to get into slippers. It's not just feet that get damaged.

I only wear Gabor or Clark's shoes, I'll wear any well fitting sandals but I do have some Merrell sandals which I bought during a sale for serious walki....limping.

Grandkids are fitted for Clark's shoes and they are really expensive but I'm sure they will benefit later.

I could scream at some teenagers wearing shoes which must be crippling them for the sake of fashion, I'd like to wave my X-Rays at them to remind them it's backs, hips and knees that will bite back later in life.

Rant over from this old bird whose feet are OK but the rest is knackered!

My physio told me that the worse shoes are those flat "ballet" type shoes people wear, they have no support, are too flat and generally not a good choice. Not good for the calf muscles either.

my feet are ok, I was made to clarks in the 1970s by my Mum when all I ever wanted was a pair of hessian wedges :-(

The glory of shoes is, on the whole, your body weight may fluctuate - but your feet stay the same :-D

I've never worn those ballet-type pumps. In fact, apart from the crocs, (and they're different) I've never worn slip on shoes.
I like my boots.

My feet aren't too bad but I dread to think what most young women's feet will look like in years to come. Their feet are crammed into shoes with heels so high they are almost on tiptoe.

Isn't it funny tho how the shapes and quirks of feet are passed on down the family? I have one middle toe that is turned under at the end just as my dad's was, and my son's feet, according to his fiancee, are just like mine, with the second toe slightly longer than the big toe and the overall shape the same.

When I was pregnant with my son I wore flipflops a lot and my feet 'spread', so now I wear an 8 rather than the 7 I wore before my pregnancy.

I know our ears and noses never stop growing , thank heavens it doesn't apply to feet lol

My children's father has toes that turn up slightly. My youngest has long toes that turn up a lot!!
She would wear out the uppers of her shoes before the soles :-S

One thing she always wanted, was to wear slip-ons, but she couldn't as her long turny-uppy toes would fly out!!

My eldest has short, stumpy toes - not a 'thing' in either side of her genes, and her children all have long slender toes. I sometimes wonder the shape of her toes if it's an effect of the morning sickness drug I was given - Debendox.
I was 4 months pregnant, and had been taking it for 2 months when it's dangers (loss of digits in babies) was emblazoned across newspapers.

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 5 May 2015 23:42

my grandma has six toes on each foot which was also webbed

the family used to say her mum was chased by a duck when she was pregnant :-D

my feet are perfect small with 5 toes on each foot lol

I recommend 'Wellingtons'. They cover a load of blemishes. And now they come in various colours to satisfy your own faddish leaning.

But never wear red ones through a field containing a wild bull - Usain Bolt excepted.

Wellingtons would be the best bet for all those celebs going to Glastonbury. ;-)
