Comment pasted from eBay don't blame me for the spelling!

I think Dermot is pointing out the unfair difficulty that those born with three feet find in getting a matching set of shoes. Or maybe something else.

Brought or bought?

A pet hate of mine.

Why is Rolf Harris on a thread about shoes and feet or is there something else to come out yet?

Didn't he also sing about "two little boys"?

Some Australian bloke ...

How long does it take you to figure out a pair of shoes don't fit?

"I brought these for £55 yesterday, I ran 3 miles today and decided they don't fit. I can't return them as I have run in them."

I'm Jake the Peg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
With my extra leg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
Wherever I go through rain and snow
The people always let me know
There's Jake the peg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
With his extra leg, diddle-iddle-iddle

The day that I born (oh boy) my father nearly died
He couldn't get my nappies on, how matter how he tried
Cause I was born with an extra leg, and since that day begun
I had to learn to stand on my own three feet
Believe me that's no fun

[Chorus:]

I had a dreadful childhood really, I s'pose I shouldn't moan
Each time they had a three legged race, I won it on me own
And also I got popular, when came the time for cricket
They used to roll my trousers up
And use me for the wicket

[Chorus:]

I was a dreadful scholar, I found all the lessons hard
The only thing I knew for sure, was three feet make a yard
To count to ten I used me fingers, if I needed more
By getting my shoes and socks off
I could count to twenty four

I'm Jake the [stops to count]

... To twenty five

I'm Jake the peg, diddle-iddle-iddle-um
With my extra leg, diddle-iddle-iddle.

(* I've been advised by my legal team to desist from naming the well-known singer of this ditty. Litigation has a nasty habit of emptying pockets.)

Well, in spite of wearing Scholls (kept in my office), Birkenstock as a sandal/slipper and barefoot I also loved pretty high heels.

Mind you I will never know how I managed to drive a Mini Traveller in very high platform shoes. The first time I wore them in office I towered above one of my engineers who immediately checked the psi of them.

Cattle are red/green colour blind. They don't care what colour boots you have. If the bull sees a possible enemy run ... in which case wellies will have been a poor choice, 4in heels even worse.

Except for sandals ( why on earth do some people, mostly men, wear socks & sandles together? ) feet remain confidential on the street. My OH is shoe mad inc sandals but she has very pretty feet and slim legs so I never complain about wading through the overflow of the shoe cupboard to get to bed :-D

My sister has double jointed toes and fingers sometimes the "phrase scissor hands" comes to mind... She certainly livens up shoe shop assistants.

Why do young people wear weird trainers call "hi-tops" with impossibly skinny jeans?

Wellingtons would be the best bet for all those celebs going to Glastonbury. ;-)

Dermot

Dermot Report 6 May 2015 10:51

I recommend 'Wellingtons'. They cover a load of blemishes. And now they come in various colours to satisfy your own faddish leaning.

But never wear red ones through a field containing a wild bull - Usain Bolt excepted.

My children's father has toes that turn up slightly. My youngest has long toes that turn up a lot!!
She would wear out the uppers of her shoes before the soles :-S

One thing she always wanted, was to wear slip-ons, but she couldn't as her long turny-uppy toes would fly out!!

My eldest has short, stumpy toes - not a 'thing' in either side of her genes, and her children all have long slender toes. I sometimes wonder the shape of her toes if it's an effect of the morning sickness drug I was given - Debendox.
I was 4 months pregnant, and had been taking it for 2 months when it's dangers (loss of digits in babies) was emblazoned across newspapers.

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 5 May 2015 22:11

My feet aren't too bad but I dread to think what most young women's feet will look like in years to come. Their feet are crammed into shoes with heels so high they are almost on tiptoe.

Isn't it funny tho how the shapes and quirks of feet are passed on down the family? I have one middle toe that is turned under at the end just as my dad's was, and my son's feet, according to his fiancee, are just like mine, with the second toe slightly longer than the big toe and the overall shape the same.

When I was pregnant with my son I wore flipflops a lot and my feet 'spread', so now I wear an 8 rather than the 7 I wore before my pregnancy.

I know our ears and noses never stop growing , thank heavens it doesn't apply to feet lol
