My Dad wasn't down the pub, he was doing the ironing listening to his comedy LPs (Morecombe and Wise, Kenneth Williams and others I don't remember) while Mum cooked lunch for 2pm and listened to the radio. |

We had family discussions on Sundays, especially when dad was home. By discussions, it was a time when we could say what we wanted and get a reasonable response from mum and dad - no-one wanted to 'spoil' Sunday lunch with an argument. |

Strangely enough, I cannot eat roast beef and yorkshire pudding, without hearing Kathleen Harrison in my head, from Meet the Huggets. |

Two way family favourites with Cliff Michelmore and (her name escapes me, was it his wife?) Maybe that was the 50s not sure if it went on into the 60s. Loved the Navy Lark, once saw a live broadcast from HMS Ark Royal in Portsmouth Dockyard. |

I lived in hope that my OH would make contact through Family Favourites when he was in Singapore doing his national service - but no such luck - Pat Boone with "I'll be Home" always made me cry |
